- CaSIL
The California Spatial Information Library, operated by the state government. They host a variety of vector and raster datasets, including boundaries, hydrography, transportation networks, DOQQs, USGS DRGs, LANDSAT, and Spot Imagery.
- UC Berkeley Earth Sciences and Map Library
Provides links to online and offline California resources. The library also hosts DEMs for the Bay Area, and the Statewide Database which includes boundary files, census data, and election results.
- UC Santa Barbara Biogeography Lab
They host several data layers from their GAP Analysis (land use and landcover, plant and animal species) and base layers for the state and individual physiographic regions.

- Idaho Government Agenices
The Idaho Department of Lands and the Department of Water Resources both have extensive GIS resources for download, including boundaries, hydrography, land use and land cover, and imagery.
- INSIDE Idaho
The Interactive Numeric and Spatial Information Data Engine. This is the primary clearinghouse for Idaho datasets and includes boundary files, imagery, census data, and climate data. They also provide links to many federal, state, and local government agencies that provide GIS data.
