Russian Federation Digital Data

The digital spatial data includes the subjects of the Russian Federation: 21 republics, 6 krays, 49 oblasts, 2 cities of federal significance (Moscow and St. Petersburg), 1 autonomous oblast, and 10 autonomous districts are the subjects of the Russian Federation. The data includes locations of 1858 rayons, 6 ethnic administrative rayons, and 441 gorsovets.
Spatial relationships amont rayons are preserved. In few cases, as with Chechen and Ingush republics, the authors used their best knowledge to generate boundaries between splitting or newly created rayons.
The boundaries for the most gorsovets, are shown. Some gorsovets are combined with the surrounding administrative units. 27 gorsovets with unknown locations are absent in the data:

Gorsovets' sizes and shapes in the cartogram may not exactly match their real geometric parameters.
